Since its establishment in 1990, SMC Global Asset, Inc. (SMCGA) has pursued the realization of safe and comfortable lifestyle for people across the globe, including those in developing countries. These efforts include investment in business related to pharmaceuticals. We have grown our business with a focus on pharmaceutical-related fields, including investment in biotechnology businesses. Our company celebrated its 30th anniversary in April 2020. This would not have been possible without everyone’s contribution. We have successfully developed a robust business performance system focused on 3 fields: medical, culture, and local urban development. In addition, the broader SMC Group is utilizing strong cooperative ties to actively expand its business. As a part of this, we are taking initiatives to further expand our business area and stand as a leader in our group’s global expansion. The global economy has experienced dizzying upheavals in recent years. However, we have stood tall and played a significant role in developing new markets by forging tight local relationships through international business and creating significant assets from new business these relationships have facilitated. We are fully aware of the importance of embracing the challenge of developing new business on a global scale, and that our company’s role in a future global society will only grow. While we anticipate that the required investment viewpoints and relationships will change constantly, we will aim to create sustainable assets that satisfy the demands of the times. This will include making full use of our accumulated experience to construct stronger networks with local communities; taking up challenges in new fields, markets, and regions; and implementing reforms based on unique proposals that seize the challenges encountered at every phase as important opportunity.
